The current study is a preceding study of the three-year research plan "The Implementation of Competency-Driven National Core Curriculum Study: Develop A Learner-Centered, Self-directed E-learning Platform." The goal for the current study is to integrate the learning frameworks proposed by the three subprojects (Mandarin language arts, mathematics, and science), propose ways of diverse learning opportunities, and design assessment after learning.
The future three-year research study will have a main project and four subprojects: subproject I for establishing self-directed e-learning platform that has the capacity to encompass subproject II, III, and IV. This preceding study will start with searching the related literature search. It is our hope to establish the theoretical basis on e-learning and self-directed learning.
