Digital technology is changing the way information is being packaged and transmitted. Not only have the form and function of textbooks aimed at the elementary and junior high school levels felt its impact, it is causing a paradigm shift within education at these levels as well.
When faced with the increasingly complex content and functionality of digital textbooks, users need the convenience and practicality of search and use functions via a clear interface and an internet platform that has appropriate operational functionality.
The purpose of the current study is:?
1. Analyze the current state of digital textbook platforms from overseas, including content characteristics as well as services and functionality.?
2. Evaluate and discuss interface design for digital textbook platforms.
Research methods employed include content analysis and usability testing. In addition to a discussion of the current literature on user interfaces, expected research results include a summary of the information content in existing digital textbook platforms; principles and suggestions related to the establishment and development of digital textbook platforms in Taiwan; and for reference, how to improve digital textbook interface design, usability and quality of service for domestic digital publishers.
