The new rationales of 12-year Basic Education in Taiwan were implemented via “Core Literacy”. Therefore, this project will investigate “Core Literacy of the Chinese Mandarin Curriculum” in curriculum development and supportive resources. This project will examine the existing problems of the Chinese Mandarin Curriculum in Taiwan, and look for possible ways to improve. This project will investigate a literacy-oriented mode of teaching materials and methods in the Chinese Mandarin Curriculum through collaboration of university professors, teachers and school resources. The research results will be used as a reference for textbooks written, teacher education, and teachers' professional development.
