本研究主要的研究目的有下列四項：1.進行「核心素養」概念的界定與探討。2.分析以核心素養作為十二年國民基本教育課程組織主軸的理由。3.進行「課程連貫」與「課程統整」意義、理念與實踐方式的探討。4.進行十二年國民基本教育課程連貫與統整的原則與示例之探討。本研究主要透過文獻及文件分析、個別訪談、焦點座談、諮詢座談及聯席研討等途徑，來進行資料收集及問題解決，期能理解十二年國民基本教育課程組織可能的主軸—核心素養，並以示例說明如何以核心素養進行課程的連貫與統整。本研究主要的研究結果為：1.英文的key competence 即是「核心素養」，核心素養能完整涵蓋認知、技能和情意面向的培養。2.核心素養能引導課程的連貫與課程的統整。3.透過核心素養的轉化歷程及其示例，能具體說明核心素養能達成跨不同教育階段課程的垂直連貫之目標。4.透過核心素養的轉化歷程及其示例，能具體說明核心素養能達成跨領域／科目課程的水平統整之目標。

　　There are four purposes for this study, which are: 1). defining and exploring the conception for key competence. 2). analyzing the reason of key competence which is used to become the main principle of curriculum organization for the twelve-year basic education program. 3). exploring the meanings, ideals and practices of curriculum integration and curriculum coherence. 4). exploring the principles and examples of curriculum integration and curriculum coherence for the twelve-year basic education program .The methods of literature review, interview and holding focus group, consultation meeting, symposium were be used for the data collection and analysis in this study.
