The rural education has always been concerned by Taiwan's education policy. Among them, how to improve the rate of students' enrollment in remote areas, to solve the problem of uneven education, and how to practice the nearest school policy of rural education in the 12-year compulsory education. Those are important issues for rural education. Based on this, the purpose of this study includes: 1. to explore the progression of students from remote areas in elementary, junior and senior high schools; 2. to explore the influencing factors of students from remote areas studying in the original school district or across districts in elementary and junior high schools; 3. to explore the factors influencing of progression and employment of students from remote areas in senior high schools; 4. to explore strategies to help students from remote areas study in the original school district in elementary, junior high schools; 5. to explore ways to improve the progress of students from remote areas in elementary, junior and senior high schools. The research results will be provided to the relevant units of the Ministry of Education.
