Based on the traditional thought that emphasizes the harmony of body and mind, a school program for the third and fourth graders aimed to enhance mental and physical quality is proposed. During this tow-year project, we plan to 1) design a two-semester school program, Body-mind axial awareness I and II, for this purpose; 2) evaluate the effect of the program on children participants’ cognitive ability, cognitive style, ability of emotional regulation, and movement coordination, compared to a waiting-list control group; 3) develop a teacher training program and supporting system for school teachers interested in the project.
