The rationales for 12-Year Basic Education in Taiwan were mainly implemented via “Key Competence.” In this sense, this project will focus on “Key Competence” of the English Language Curriculum Guidelines, and implement curriculum development and supportive resources. This project will address the potential greatest changes (e.g. learning strategy, discourse) in the English language curriculum guidelines, and develop lesson plans and related materials. This project will attempt to develop a competence-oriented mode of teaching materials and methods in the English Language Curriculum through collaboration of university professors, teachers and school resources. The research results will be used as a reference for textbook compilation, teacher education, and development in teacher professionalism.
